Elena Padrón

Biography: 

Elena Padrón, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Psychology & Coordinator of the Masters in Counseling Program at Cal Poly Humboldt.  She is a clinical and developmental psychologist with specializations in early childhood, attachment, trauma, and developmental psychopathology. 

Her research centers on the intersection of early childhood mental health, parent-child attachment relationships, and intergenerational transmission of trauma, specifically in minoritized populations. Dr. Padrón runs the Intergenerational Trauma & Attachment Lab. Her clinical experience is in child mental health and dyadic/family therapy with multicultural populations. Dr. Padrón has completed academic and clinical work with Latinx and international populations in her native Venezuela as well as in the United States.
