Gahtan Lab - Zebrafish Connectome

We created a biologically realistic model of a cellular-level connectome in zebrafish larvae, based on the posterior lateral line sensorimotor pathway. This pathway has been studied extensively, so the types and numbers of neurons, and even specific connections among individual neurons, could be accurately reconstructed. This level of detail is not possible in more complex vertebrates. Our model can be expanded and used to organize a growing database on zebrafish neurobiology. Therefore, we are making this connctome model available to other researchers to download.
