Social Identity and Social Influence Lab
Principal Investigator: Amber M. Gaffney, Ph.D.; Co-Investigator Benjamin J. Anjewierden
The Social Identity Lab at Cal Poly Humboldt studies the role of identity in shaping, changing, and shifting social groups. We examine a variety of factors involved in social and group change, such as the polarization of group prototypes, the roles of both leaders and deviants in changing groups, and minority influence. Our students go on to PhD programs, tenure track positions, research-based careers, and teaching careers.
